Meilong Tube manufactures either welded or seamless hydraulic control lines for subsurface applications. Hydraulic control line is available in mainly five materials, varying wall thicknesses, and a wide range of working pressure ratings. The line is supplied on spools to exact length requirements. Upon request, it is pressure tested hydraulically, purged with nitrogen gas, or clean oil liquid, and sealed on both ends prior to shipping.

 

Welded hydraulic control line is floating plug drawn to ASTM specifications and is available in any length. Material types for hydraulic control lines include stainless steel TP316L which is suitable for sweet to moderately corrosive environments, Duplex stainless steel 2205, Super Duplex stainless steel 2507, nickel alloy Incoloy 825 and Inconel 625 are suitable for severely corrosive environments and high working pressures and temperatures. Control system fluids must be compatible with the environments and operating temperatures of the control line.

 

Control line encapsulation also is available, where requested, to provide additional crush and abrasion resistance during installation. The encapsulation material should be matched for compatibility with well fluids and temperature requirements.

 

The encapsulation of downhole components such as Hydraulic Control Lines, Single Line Encapsulation, Dual-Line Encapsulation (FLATPACK), Triple-Line Encapsulation (FLATPACK) has become prevalent in downhole applications. The overlaying of plastic provides several benefits that help to ensure a successful completion.

 

Encapsulation provides a protective layer to keep the lines from being scratched, dented, and possibly crushed while running in hole.

Encapsulation of several components (Flat Pack) provides a consolidation that will help reduce equipment and personnel that is needed to deploy multiple single components. In many cases, a flat pack is mandatory as rig space can be limited.

Encapsulation keeps from metal to metal contact.

Encapsulation can provide protection to underlying components while in hole such as a lines that can be across a sand face or possibly in contact with a high rate of gas.

 

FREE OF ORBITAL WELDS for TPV Encapsulated Control Lines

 

Hydraulic Control Lines depending on the length of the application are subjected to raw materials. Orbital welds have become unnecessary in our industry as well completions are often greater than the standard yield of a mill produced coil. Our seam-welded tubing production uses Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding machines, and Laser Welding Machines. This process gives the operator the tools to perform a repeatable, high-quality weld. Our current equipment, together with cold-drawing machines allow us to produce OD Size ranges of 1/8” – 1” and Wall Thicknesses of 0.028” -0.095”. Common alloys for tubing products are 316L, 2205, 2507, 825, 625, and Monel 400.
