Features:

Prior to starting production, there are a few tests that must be conducted to ensure that the correct material has been chosen. First, chemical tests are done to identify any potential issues with the make-up of the material, as well as make sure that the material has the right combination of components to meet production specifications. Next, corrosion testing is conducted to ensure any elemental changes will not cause the item to lose its integrity. Dimensional testing is then used to ensure that the final product will fit properly in a specific application. Following that, eddy current and elongation tests are conducted to verify the metal’s susceptibility to tension and expansion. Furthermore, flare, flatten and grain size testing is used to circle any imperfections that may arise in the production of the product. Lastly, hardness, hydrostatic, and tensile testing are employed to ensure the production of metals that are fractured or impacted.

There is also further testing depending on what materials are chosen for the specific application. For control lines, the following materials are tested: austenitic (316L, ASTM A-269), duplex (S31803/S32205, S32750, ASTM A-789), and nickel alloy (N08825, N06625, ASTM B-704; ASTM B-423, ASTM B-444, ASTM B-645). These tests are used to ensure that these metals are of high quality and will hold up in the application they are intended for.
