Enhanced Tensile Strength Coiled tubing Hydraulic Control Line Capillary Tubing
Meilong Tube supplies a whole range of products to the oil and gas sector, and it’s one of our most important markets. You’ll find our high performance tubes successfully used in some of the most aggressive subsea and downhole conditions thanks to our proven track record in meeting the strict quality requirements of the oil, gas and geothermal energy industries.
Improving technology has extended the range of ways in which oil and gas fields can be exploited, and increasingly projects require the use of long, continuous lengths of stainless steel control lines. These are employed in a variety of applications including hydraulic controls, instrumentation, chemical injection, umbilicals and flowline control. Meilong Tube supplies products for all of these applications, and more, lowering operating costs and improved recovery methods for our customers.
Thanks to advances in tubular control line technologies, it is now cheaper and easier to connect downhole valves and chemical injection systems with remote and satellite wells, for both fixed and floating central platforms. We offer coiled tubing for control lines in stainless steel and nickel alloys.
Typical Size of Coiled Tubing
Outside diameter of coiled tubing control lines is mainly 1/4’’ (6.35mm).
Wall thicknesses: 0.035’’ (0.89mm), 0.049’’ (1.24mm), 0.065’’ (1.65mm)
Control line tubing is available in continuous lengths without orbitally butt welds.
Other specifications (1/8’’ to 3/4’’) are available on request.
Advantages and Benefits of Coiled Tubing
- Control lines are delivered in orbital-weld-free lengths up to 40,000 ft (12,192 m) to maximize reliability.
- A wide range of single, dual, or triple flat-packs is available. Flat-packs can be combined with downhole electrical cables and/or bumper wires for easier operation and handling during deployment.
- Welded-and-plug-drawn production method ensures a smooth, round tube to allow long-term metal sealing of terminations.
- Encapsulation materials are selected to suit well conditions, ensuring longevity and reliability.

Duplex 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel designed for applications which demand exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. Alloy 2507 has 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This high molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content results in excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion attack and the duplex structure provides 2507 with exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
Usage of Duplex 2507 should be limited to applications below 600° F (316° C). Extended elevated temperature exposure can reduce both the toughness and corrosion resistance of alloy 2507.
Duplex 2507 possesses excellent mechanical properties. Often a light gauge of 2507 material can be used to achieve the same design strength of a thicker nickel alloy. The resulting savings in weight can dramatically reduce the overall cost of fabrication.
Corrosion Resistance
2507 Duplex is highly resistant to uniform corrosion by organic ac Super Duplex 2507 Plateids such as formic and acetic acid. It is also highly resistant to inorganic acids, especially if they contain chlorides. Alloy 2507 is highly resistant to carbide-related intergranular corrosion. Due to the ferritic portion of the duplex structure of the alloy it is very resistant to stress corrosion cracking in warm chloride containing environments. Through additions of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice attack are improved. Alloy 2507 has excellent localized pitting resistance.
