TP316L is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that has a low carbon content. It offers good corrosion resistance to organic acids at high concentrations and moderate temperatures, as well as inorganic acids at moderate concentrations and temperatures. It also withstands salt solutions like sulphates, and caustic environments. While the steel is quite resilient, it does retain a weakness to stress corrosion cracking at temperatures above 140°F if subjected to tensile stress and contact with certain solutions containing chlorides. Therefore, it must be avoided at all cost in such circumstances.

Compared to other steels in the same category, TP316L has better resistance to intergranular corrosion due to its low carbon content. This makes it a more dependable alternative for long-term and intensive projects.

Tube mill is used to form and gas-tungsten arc and laser beam weld the strip stock on multiple tube mills which are designed and fabricated in Meilong Tube. A process called sinking, is a cold working process in which tubing is pulled through a lubricated die without an internal plug. In certain cases, due to the manufacturing limitation, welding tubing is not able to reach the targeted size. Hence, larger outside diameter will be welded and the tubing will go through a reduction and heat treatment process.

The floating-plug operation is another cold working process in which tubing is pulled through a lubricate die with an internal floating plug to control tubing's inside diameter. Finally, off-mill furnace with a reducing atmosphere is used to heat-treat the tubing, aiming to achieve specified mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
