Meilong Tube offers coiled tubing in a wide range of corrosion resistant stainless steels, nickel alloys, with extensive experience in product supply and innovation in oil & gas sector. Among them, TP316L austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel is especially widely used. It has a low carbon content and therefore better resistance to intergranular corrosion than steels of type TP316. Additionally, TP316L exhibits excellent weldability, with or without the addition of filler metal.
The tubing products for the oil & gas sector have been applied in some of the most aggressive subsea and downhole conditions. Meilong Tube has a long proven track record of supplying products that satisfy the strict quality requirements of the oil and gas sector in terms of corrosion resistance. TP316L shows good corrosion resistance to organic acids at high concentrations and moderate temperatures, inorganic acids like phosphoric and sulphuric acids, salt solutions(e.g. sulphates, sulphides and sulphites), as well as caustic environments. However, attention must be paid to avoid stress corrosion cracking, which may occur at temperatures above about 60°C (140°F) and exposure to certain solutions containing chlorides.
Meilong Tube operates from a complex of buildings totaling 20,000 square meters. Its tube mill is designed and fabricated by the company itself. Tubing is formed, and gas-tungsten arc and laser beam welded from strip stock on this tube mill.
Sinking is a cold working process in which tubing is pulled through a lubricated die without an internal plug. In some cases, which manufacturing process limitations restrict welding the tubing to final size, the tubing is welded at a larger outside diameter and sunk in multiple reduction / heat treatment operations.
Floating-plug operation is also a cold working process, but in this process tubing is pulled through a lubricate die with an internal floating plug which controls inside diameter of tubing.
The tubing is also heat-treated to achieve specified mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in an off-mill furnace with a reducing atmosphere.
