The surface-controlled subsurface safety valve (SCSSV) is an essential downhole safety valve that is operated from the surface facilities via a control line installed on the external surface of the production tubing. It is available in two basic types: wireline retrievable, which allows running and retrieving the integral components with slickline, and tubing retrievable, with the entire safety-valve assembly installed along the tubing string. The fail-safe control system is powered by a hydraulic control pressure to hold the open a ball or flapper assembly, closing it when the control pressure is lost.

To address such cases, the tubing is welded at a larger outside diameter and sunk in multiple reduction and heat treatment operations.
Floating-plug operation is another cold working process employed by Meilong Tube. It involves the use of an internal floating plug which controls inside diameter of tubing.
Finally, heat treatment is used to achieve specified mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in an off-mill furnace with a reducing atmosphere.
