Meilong Tube has been utilizing TEC for the oil and gas industry since 2015. TEC stands for tubular encapsulation technology, which enables the protection of electrical and optical components from the pressure and corrosive effects of the downhole environment. Mounted stainless steel and nickel alloy tubing is welded to provide generous protection, while a layer of polymeric encapsulation provides additional mechanical protection.
Meilong Tube offers a wide selection of copper and fiber components that important in producing the industry’s most sophisticated instrumentation cables. Moreover, TEC configurations are available with an almost infinite combination of components in splice-free custom lengths to meet the needs of different customers.

TEC, which stands for Tubing Electric Cable, is a type of tubing that is used in well conditions with certain requirements, such as pressure, temperature and corrosiveness of the well fluid. It is an alloy matched to the specific application, and the tubes are welded longitudinally and tested to ensure its quality. Every tube also has its own complete test data. The mechanical characteristics of the alloy TEC, when it is in a cold worked condition, differ based on diameter and the wall thickness. The minimum collapse range across stainless 316L and incoloy 825 are specified, as well as the minimum bend radius. It should be noted that while deploying the tubes into or out of the well, the minimum bending radius should be as large as possible.
In addition to these specifications, TEC tubes can also be customized with its own detailed data. Electrical components are also available, with TEC 100 to TEC 250 depending on temperature range and filler and insulation. It also contains maximum electrical conductor resistance at 20°C (68°F). This varies based on conductor O.D., solid bare copper and 7 strands bare copper in AWG.
