Meilong Tube has introduced TEC for the oil and gas industry since 2015. It is a welded stainless steel and nickel alloy tubing specially crafted to protect electrical and optical components from the pressure and corrosive effects found in downhole environment. To further strengthen the mechanical protection, polymeric encapsulation is also employed.
There is a wide selection of copper and fiber components from Meilong Tube. These allow users to construct industry’s most sophisticated instrumentation cables, and generations of downhole gauges and tools for even hotter and deeper wells, all of which are optimized for newest technologies.
TEC is highly customizable in both components and length desired for a specific use. Standard encapsulation sizes (11 mm x 11 mm square) are available to meet almost any downhole requirements. Furthermore, there are composite cables incorporating various combinations of electrical and optical components, enabling users to meet the specific demands for downhole needs.

Flatpack components can include TEC with electrical conductors, hydraulic control lines for controlling of downhole valves and fluid injection lines for enhanced oil/gas recovery or corrosion/scaling inhibition.

TEC is selected based on well conditions such as pressure, temperature and corrosiveness of the well fluid. The tubing is composed of an alloy matched to the application. It is then longitudinally welded, eddy current tested and drawn to finished size. Complete test data is available for every tube.

The calculations are based on the minimum yield strength of 120,000 psi. All TEC tubing is oversized welded and drawn and it can be customized with a variety of data including part number, serial number, sequential length and purchase order number. It is important to note that the bending radius indicated is only in a static condition after final training at the termination while deploying it into or out of the well, the minimum bending radius should be as large as possible.

With the help of smartphones, tablets, or computers, any temperature data can be accurately captured and recorded, making it easier to identify temperature trends and potential problems.
